Lily and Me

Been to South Carolina.
Met a new friend.
Learned from her.
Felt how she felt.
Loved her.
Loved her friends, too.
Had a great journey with her.

Life's good, after all.

First Love

Hi there. I'm sure you're already tired of hearing these words from me but I'll still say it anyway. I miss you. So much. When was the last time we've seen each other last, it's like a century already. I'm here again with some updates to deliver. Right now, I'm trying to finish Thomas Hardy's "The Return of the Native"- you may wonder why it took so long for me to finish it but maybe, you'll understand the excuse, though it's already a cliche (eyes rolling) that I have been very busy- you know, with my banking career (urgh!) for the past couple of months. Next in the row is my Mr. Steinbeck's "To A God Unknown". I'm planning to read and finish it next week as the Ati-atihan Festival is being celebrated. By the way, I haven't introduced to you my new books yet, have I? Here they are:

I bought "One Day" when I was in Cebu. I read it at the plane on my way back to Aklan and the next day, I downloaded its movie version and I'm telling you, it's always better in books. Always. Unless it's a Samuel Jackson movie, of course.

The second book is the one I was talking about. I got another Steinbeck but I can't find one "The Grapes of Wrath" at bookstores here in Kalibo, yet. And even in some of the NBS I've visited. That's one of the classics I'm craving to get.

And finally, "The Prometheus Deception" by the ever-famous Mr. Ludlum.

Well, it's my birthday next week so expect some gift/s. *crossed fingers that my penny's enough to buy myself a GOOD GIFT this January 21st. *crossed fingers too that I'm going to get my dream book on my birthday. Yah, everyone's been talking about it since December of 2011 and I can't wait to own one. It's called "The Fault in Our Stars" by Mr. John Green. I mentioned it before in one of my previous blogs and yes, year 2012 ended without my chance of getting it.

See you soon, then. (remembering this line from Nicholas Sparks' Dear John). See you soon then.

Love and Other Books

Yes, I will never stop loving you.

Loving David

“What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.”

This is what J.D. Salinger is talking about. Now, I know the feeling.
